The Master of Science in Computer Information Systems is open to persons with the following qualifications:
- Three years of documented professional information systems work experience.
- A bachelors degree with a grade point average (GPA) of at least 2.75 for the last 60 hours of academic work.
- A score of at least 450 on the Graduate Management Admissions Test (GMAT) or a comparable percentage rank score on the Graduate Record Examination (GRE).
- Students with a bachelors degree who do not meet the other admission requirements, but who would otherwise be excellent candidates for the program will be
considered for special admission on a case-by-case basis.
Prerequisite Courses
The prospective student must have taken at least nine hours of information systems course work from an institution of higher learning,
including at least one course in each of the following areas:
- Systems analysis and design
- Programming (any language)
- Database design and/or implementation
The prospective student must have a background in business administration including exposure to accounting, finance, marketing, management and economics.
These business requirements may be satisfied by:
- An undergraduate or graduate degree in business administration, or
- Courses equivalent to at least a total of nine hours from any three of the following business subjects: accounting, finance, marketing, management and/or economics.
The Program Director will determine whether an applicant satisfies the prerequisites.
